Chairman of the Board Scott G. Stephenson is a globally recognized corporate leader and innovator in the field of technology and data analytics.
During his tenure as Verisk’s CEO from 2013-2021, the company doubled revenues, tripled the number of countries served, and quadrupled market capitalization. He served the company for more than 20 years in leadership positions including Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. From 2000 to 2020, Verisk’s Total Shareholder Return increased at a compound annual growth rate of 26.8%.
Under his leadership, the company was certified as a Great Place to Work™ for six consecutive years, named one of America’s Most Just Companies™, as well as one of America’s Best Managed Companies™. Forbes recognized him as one of America’s Most Innovative Leaders in 2019, and as one of the Top 25 Most Innovative Leaders Worldwide the year before.
Previously, he was a Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group, and the founding partner of its southeastern U.S. practice. Prior, as a Research Engineer, he designed components of missile propulsion systems and propellant formulations for the Atlantic Research Corporation.
He serves on many for-profit and not-for-profit boards, including Public Service Enterprise Group, Inc., The Bowery Mission, the Yale Center for Faith & Culture, the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard's Institute for Quantitative Social Science, and the University of Virginia School of Data Science. Scott earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia.
